Subject: New objective ranking of universities!
I formulated a new way to rank universities ...

Methods:
Google university names and the word suck, and then tabulate the number of counts. E.g. Universities included are the english speaking universities in the medical / research category of Maclean´s. I don´t know the French word for ´suck´.

Order of suckiness:
1. University of Toronto sucks (764,000)
2. Queens University sucks (443,000)
3. University of British Columbia sucks (420,000)
4. University of Western Ontario (251,000)
5. University of Ottawa sucks (249,000)
6. University of Alberta sucks (223,000)
7. University of Calgary sucks (198,000)
8. University of Manitoba (92,100)
9. University of Saskatchewan (78,200)
10. McGill University (71,100)
11. McMaster University (32,000)
12. Dalhousie University sucks (14,700)

Conclusions:
The clear winner is UofT. Note this cannot be explained primarily on jealousy for two reasons. First, the majority of the outcome was the result of students complaining about their own universities. Second, McGill is equal to (according to MacLeans´s) or better (according to THES and Research Infosource) than UofT and is at the bottom of the list.

man, I think the OP either:

1. is a low-life loser who has nothing better to do

2. uoft is really a pain in the ass for him

Your methodology is flawed.

If you search for "________ sucks" WITHOUT quotes, you get misleading results.

IE, for university of toronto sucks, the very first hit has nothing to do with UofT. It does give big numbers but irrelevant results.

You gotta do the search WITH quotes. That changes your rankings dramatically:

1. University of Toronto sucks (90)

In fact, none of the other search terms will bring up results, when in quotes. And most of the 90 hits for UofT come from an Asian student forum.

NOTICE HOW THE OP DIDN´T PUT "YORK SUCKS" ON TOP OF HIS LIST WHEN IT ACTUALLY TOP THE LIST?

I WONDER WHY?

Oops, my mistake.... "york university sucks" does return 110 results. I had retested only about 1/2 the list before stopping.

York was not included because I only included the medical category. I don´t have time to do all canadian unversities (I do have a life you know). But I invite you all to include other universities and redo the analysis if you think the methodology is flawed.

"McGill sucks" = 151
"York University sucks" = 110
"University of Toronto sucks" = 90

Ladies and gents, we have a wiener! But how oh how to interpret the results? Let´s retire to my dorm, put on some soft lights, mood music, do some poppers....

A bit biased aren´t we? Who refers to York as York University and Uoft as University of Toronto?

"McGill sucks" + "McGill University sucks" = 151 + 0 = 151
"University of Toronto sucks" + "uoft sucks" = 90 + 137 = 227

UofT sucks more than McGill
