Ben Chiu, Patrick Fung, Tak Mak, Lap-Chee Tsui to name a few are famous people in Western Society. Obviously they aren´t famous famous like Bill Gates or Warren Buffet, but just how many Gates or Buffet are there? That is also Asian?

In general, there are´t many famous Asian overall in America or Europe, and I invite you to name some.

The majority of the asian are famous in, guess where... Asia. Also Korean people may not be famous in Japan or China, and vice versa. That´s just the way it works in the East.

Perhaps I overrated McGill students´ intellgence to understand such simple fact.

Why do you blame UofT alone, which probably produces the most famous Asian alumni out of anywhere in Canada? Obviously you´re just too insecure about McGill and feel threaten by UofT. You just can´t get over UofT´s dominance over your exponentially declining craphole school. You must also be a loser in life because that´s what racists are. Sucks to be you.

I´m Asian for your info, and I have no idea whom those guys you´ve listed are. I´m just making the point that you UofT idiots keep boasting about your school, yet very few Asians whom mostly are also Canadians citizens never make it big in Canada/US, so why showoff?

Is it to boast your own insecurity, UofT fanboy?

UofT & UBC with the most Asian graduates have done shit to produce great Asian graduates in North America. Stanford and Berkeley have done much more to advance Asians into high profile careers and fame.

That´s the point.

I´m sure most Canadians would not know those names you´ve listed, not just me.

I´m guessing Ben Chiu is a CBC reporter. Someone listed Adrian Clarkson, which is a start, but she really never did anything significant as governor general.

Did you notice that the Chinese-Canadian head tax was only dealt with after Adrian Clarkson stepped down from office? So, she didn´t help boast Asian interests while she did have some influence in Ottawa.

Btw, Koreans popstars and tv shows are famous all over Asia, not just in their own home country. Jacky Chan is know all over the world.

Asians are part of the fabric of Canadian society, so why do you make it sound like we Asians are foreigners in North America. The truth is Asians do face racism in North America, but schools like UofT and UBC have produced very few Asians that have broken through the "glass ceiling."

This is why I say UofT and UBC suck. I pick on these two big schools because these two schools contain the bulk of rich Asian graduates, but they´ve done nothing to break down barriers in Canada/U.S.

What do you people think?

I think you´re just being jealous, but I don´t mind discussing further. Bulk of the talents from Asia usually goes back to work in Asia. Why do you think people must stay in North America, when especially they are "Asia"n? Is NA the center of the universe? Listing entertainers such as Korean pop stars further demonstrates your ignorance, as none of these ever need an education to suceed, nor they care about the North American market.

Being an asian yourself as you claim, you should know majority of the asian do not plan to stay in Canada or US after graduation. Politican goes back to Asia (naturally). Businessmen goes back to Asia (huge potential market). That´s just the way it works. If you´re a Westerner, you probably wouldn´t put Asia as first choice as home.

Asian came to Canada/US for the purpose of world class education which is a rarity in Eastern Society. UofT and UBC and Waterloo hold great prestieges and thus attracts Asian.

Not McGill.

How is there any correlation between Asian inability to break glass ceiling and UofT? Are you fucking retarded? Learn some basic logic before you run your bitchy jealous mouth.

UofT is obviously the best university in Canada and it has produces tons of famous alumni, there´s no doubt in the education UofT offers. People from everywhere comes to UofT because of the reputation.

If it´s anything, it´s the nature of the asian race, not a fucking university.

Man, you´re such an idiot.

The original poster isn´t trying to say that UofT and UBC have fewer famous Asian alumni than wherever s/he goes. The original poster just has something against Asians in general and is trying to troll.
