Can anyone tell me how hard taking a general science degree from the University of Waterloo is? I have been to the University of Ottawa and know their standard, would you say Waterloo is the same as Ottawa or harder?

There are many factors that will determine what is harder, sometimes it comes to the personal choice.
In this case, my personal experience is that University of Waterloo is harder for most science programs.
Again, this may not be true for all programs, neither for all stuedents.

Probably UOW is harder, but again, I did not study at Uni of Ottawa, so it is hard to judgje.
